DENS/Foodbank

Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS) is well known as a charity for homeless people in Dacorum. In fact they do much more than provide a bed for the night; see their website for more information. One of their services is to provide a foodbank. It is a sad reality that, all across the community, vulnerable individuals and families find themselves struggling with empty cupboards and empty fridges, wondering where the next meal is coming from.

Run in partnership with the Trussell Trust, DENS Foodbank can provide up to three food parcels to anyone who is struggling. The Foodbank receives no government funding and so relies on the generous donations from the general public.

At Belmont Road we have a long tradition of supporting DENS. Big plastic buckets are available as you come into church for you to place your unwanted/extra/purchased to donate items!

street pastors
"Street Pastors is about Christians rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in practically responding to the problems of crime and safety. They are like beacons on our street and I want to see them shining brightly in every constituency." David Burrowes, Patron of Ascension Trust.

Dacorum Street Pastors is the church on the street working together. They are passionate about God and our local community of Hemel Hempstead. We have a number of Street Pastors in our fellowship and you can find them as part of the team on the streets of Hemel town centre between 22.00 and 02.00 on Friday and Saturday nights.
